Dr. Julie Shaheen, Founder and Podiatrist

Dr. Julie Shaheen, DPM, practiced podiatry for more than six years, leaving a busy practice to dedicate time to her growing family. She recently returned as a part-time provider with a local podiatrist in addition to raising her three children. Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Shaheen moved to New Hampshire as a child. After receiving her bachelor’s degree at Assumption College in Worcester, MA, Dr. Shaheen continued her education at Temple University’s School of Podiatric Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 2006 and completed a Podiatric Residency in 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital.

Dr. Shaheen lives in Stratham with her husband and children. She enjoys baking, exercising, growing fruits and vegetables, spending time with her family, and trying new foods in her travels. “Over the past three years, I’ve reflected on what I really enjoy about practicing podiatry. Educating patients and making someone feel better about their feet, which ultimately reflects how they feel about themselves. Barefoot Medical Spa is the perfect environment for me to do just that.”

Dr. Jim Dolan, Podiatrist

Born in Mexico, raised in Connecticut.

Dr. Dolan started his medical career as a registered nurse at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

He chose Podiatry as his path after shadowing his Uncle Gerald, a podiatrist in Darien, Connecticut.

He has worked in many different settings across the state of New Hampshire, from small community care clinics to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

Dr. Dolan has boiled down 30 years of practice to simple, effective treatments designed to return you to the activities you love.

He is trained as a surgeon but performs no surgery, believing the way he can best improve your health is focusing on simple, noninvasive techniques to make you better.

Dr. Dolan lives in the community that he works in – downtown Exeter, to be exact – and looks forward to meeting and helping new friends and neighbors.
