What is a medical pedicure?

A medical pedicure combines nail care and podiatry in a single clinical-grade treatment. Experience the cosmetic benefits of a luxury pedicure with hygiene, safety, and medical standards of a doctor’s appointment. Your nail therapist will focus on the aesthetic, therapeutic hygienic care of your feet. A medical pedicure can help treat concerns like corns and calluses, dry skin, fungal nails, cracked heels, and athlete’s foot.

A medical pedicure, also known as “medi pedi” or “medicure”, is a noninvasive, dry procedure that focuses on the hygienic and aesthetic care of the toenails and soles of the feet. Using advanced equipment and tools and the strictest hygiene protocols, our highly skilled technicians perform a one-hour treatment that addresses unsightly and uncomfortable conditions affecting your feet and nails.

What makes a medical pedicure unique from a normal pedicure?

A typical pedicure is focused on the cosmetics of the feet, like shaping your toenails and removing some dry skin. However, nail salons aren’t equipped to treat foot problems, and conventional pedicures can sometimes even make unhealthy feet worse. Barefoot’s nail therapists are trained to examine and treat foot and nail disorders using advanced equipment and tools and the strictest hygiene protocols. It’s a lot more hygienic than regular pedicures. Pedi pedis focus on cleaning your feet, and follows the strictest hygiene protocols, avoiding bacterial infection. You’ve got all our attention. Because medi pedis are a lot more in-depth than regular pedicures, our technicians have time to get to know the issues that are affecting your feet and can address them properly.

Is Barefoot more like a day spa or a doctor’s office?

Barefoot Medical Spa is more than a doctor’s office or a nail salon. It’s an oasis in a busy world, a unique space that combines the tranquility of a spa with the professionalism and security of a medical office. We have three podiatrists on our staff, with one of them always (?) present to attend to clients or consult with our nail therapist on your concerns. Unlike nail salons, our professionals are trained to examine and treat foot and nail disorders using advanced equipment and tools and the strictest hygiene protocols.

What is a podiatrist?

A podiatrist is a doctor that cares for the feet and lower legs.

What does “medical standards of cleanliness” mean?

Barefoot has the highest possible hygiene protocols. Our treatments elegantly combine medical care and beauty, and all of our instruments are sterilized between every use as they would be for surgery through an autoclave, preventing the spread of bacteria, funguses, and diseases. Forget chemical odors and toxic polishes: freshness and luxury are our signatures. Every choice we make – our experienced nail therapists, exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, and welcoming environment – lets you sit back and relax. Your health is our top priority. Every single instrument that comes in contact with your skin and nails has been properly sterilized, every time. To ensure exceptional cleanliness, all the surfaces you touch, from treatment chairs to soaking bowls, are thoroughly sanitized. Leave your worries at the door.

What does it mean that you design a personalized treatment for every client?

Our goal is not only to have you feeling good after your treatment, but to look and feel even better days, weeks, and months later. Our foot-care experts work with those whose lower legs and feet may need extra TLC to develop an at-home treatment plan personalized to the individual. Hand-selected products paired with clear instructions and scheduled visits to Barefoot will empower you to continue to look and feel your best.

What makes your staff different?

Every aspect of care at Barefoot is overseen by podiatrists with years of training and medical experience. Our carefully trained spa professionals are guided by our doctors to improve your health and wellness. Clients with special concerns, such as diabetes or circulatory problems, can be sure that they are receiving the safest and highest quality care available.
